Bavaria

In 1806 the Wittelsbach electorate became a kingdom under Napoleon and for years marched with his armies — from Ulm to Wagram and the Russian campaign. After the Treaty of Ried Munich changed sides: at Hanau Wrede’s Austro-Bavarian corps tried to cut the retreating emperor’s road.

Here too are French marshals bound to that crown: Lefebvre led the Bavarian VII Corps of 1809; Saint-Cyr the VI Corps of 1812, where Deroy fell.
